Gainesville, FL Instructors
Owner – Barre & Bodyflow Instructor
Brinn is from central California where she received her Masters in English. While writing for local magazines and teaching freshman composition, she has also been teaching a variety of group fitness formats (from yoga to kickboxing to weight lifting) for the past 7 years. When she took her first Barre class, she knew it was “the one”; she decided to change career paths and dive fully into fitness. Brinn loves the camaraderie and energy of group workout classes as well as encouraging her participants to “embrace the shake.” It has been a longtime dream of hers to own a fitness studio, and she could not be more excited to bring Barre Forte to Gainesville. Brinn is also an avid triathlete and loves how Barre workouts compliment her training.
Alicia has been in the Fitness Industry for over 34 years; she is certified to teach everything from Aquatics to Yoga. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through ACSM. Additionally, she is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has her own practice here in town. Alicia loves helping people learn how to make fitness a fun and healthy part of their everyday life!
Alicia’s first experience at Barre Forte was actually at the instructor training, and when you meet her, you’ll know she’s the type of person who dives right in! She says it was easy to jump in because, on the morning of the training, she “was welcomed to Barre Forte with warm smiles, encouragement, and open arms.” Barre’s focus on form and technique go hand-in-hand with her other trainings and, since starting, Barre Forte has become her constant. No matter what else is going on in her day, she knows that she, and everyone at Barre Forte, will be encouraged and loved while meeting their best!
Alix was born and raised in Cape Coral, FL, but when her husband accepted a job in Gainesville they relocated with their daughter and two dogs. Being in a new town and deciding it was finally time to step out of her comfort zone, she tried her first Barre class after hearing a friend rave about the workouts. Alix was instantly hooked, and is now excited to share her passion with clients. She also has a love of fashion and interior styling, and currently manages a clothing boutique. However, her heart is in animal rescue, and she hopes to start a rescue of her own someday, but until she can get her husband on board with the idea, she is thankful they’re able to foster dogs. When she’s not at the boutique or the Barre, Alix loves to travel, see shows, and try new restaurants, but is just as happy baking with her daughter at home, or binge watching New Girl with her husband. Life is short, so finding new experiences and making memories with family and friends is one thing she always looks forward to. Look for Alix teaching challenging and fun classes throughout the week!
Deanna grew up in Tampa, but came to Gainesville for college. After earning her Master’s in Math from UF, she started teaching at Santa Fe College. She’s married with two young girls. After her second child, Deanna decided it was time to devote some time to herself and get fit so she could keep up with the kids. She tried a couple of different group exercise options, but really fell in love with Barre Forte. The combination of the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with the encouragement to push yourself to meet your best hooked Deanna from the start. She loves the community of strong women she sees every time she’s at “the Barre.” She has attended over 250 classes and recently became a Barre instructor. She’s eager to have you in class so she can help you meet YOUR best!
Erica was born and raised in Newberry, Florida. After graduating high school in 1999, she attended cosmetology school and has been a cosmetologist for the past 18 years! She met her husband Joey in 2006, and they’ve been married for 10 years. They have 3 children: Eva, Elizabeth, and Jaxon. Erica has always been engaged in athletics, playing volleyball and basketball throughout high school, running, and taking many group exercise classes to stay fit! She knew she wanted to become some kind of fitness instructor, and–after starting Barre a little over a year ago–she realized that this was the perfect format for her! She loves the mind-body connection Barre Forte creates, helping women not only strengthen themselves on the outside, but the inside as well. Barre Forte has helped her both mentally and physically to become a more confident woman! She has done a lot of physical fitness over the years, and never received the results that she has experienced from Barre. Erica believes in the Barre Forte method and is very excited about helping other women achieve their goals, too!
In 2007, Erica moved to Gainesville from the Tampa Bay area where she was born and raised. In addition to teaching Barre classes at Barre Forte Gainesville, she is a professor of special education at the University of Florida. Erica took her first class at Barre Forte Gainesville in September 2016 and has made herself at home in the studio with all the Barre Babes!
Erica will be an empty-nester when her daughter starts at the University of Delaware in fall 2017! She is excited to see what the next chapter of her life will include and is thrilled that Barre will be a big part of it. When she’s not at the studio or on campus, she enjoys reading, traveling, eating–and preparing–good food. When you take classes with her be ready to Meet Your Best and have a good time!
Though she’ll always consider her home to be the Cayman Islands, where she grew up for most of her life, Genet has lived in Miami, New York, and now Gainesville. She’s currently finishing her degree in Christian counseling with Liberty University online. She’s passionate about her role in her church and helping those around her. Genet recently married her husband Zack and moved to Gainesville to live with him. She is excited to be working at Barre Forte! While at the front desk, Genet loves making people feel welcome and comfortable. When not at work or doing schoolwork, she enjoys spending time with friends, baking cookies, and keeping up with church. She’s so glad to be a part of the Barre Forte team (and we are glad to have her!).

Hannah is very excited to be a part of the Barre Forte team!
BARRE & BODYFLOW INSTRUCTOR
Heather Nations was introduced to group fitness while earning her Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Florida in the early 90s. While always a part of her life (and a welcome stress relief), it became a passion—and an essential component of her recovery after a Stage III Synovial Sarcoma diagnosis in 2007. She holds certifications in LesMills BODYPUMP, BODYVIVE, BODYSTEP, and BODYFLOW.
She strongly believes that group fitness is for everyone—and her background in therapy allows her to adapt classes—especially BODYFLOW—to maximize the experience for each individual. Her aim in every class is for you to leave feeling strong, calm, energized and positive.
When not teaching, Heather is a full time wife and mom of four amazing kids, and a part time administrative assistant at a local church—at least until she is able to pursue her next dream, a graduate degree. She couldn’t be more excited to be part of the Barre Forte team and have the honor of bringing BODYFLOW to Northwest Gainesville.
Jackie is originally from Miami, FL. She moved to Gainesville, where she earned her Bachelors in Linguistics from the University of Florida and a Masters degree from Columbia, SC. Upon moving back to Gainesville, she tried desperately to find a fitness studio that she could call home. It wasn’t until she found Barre Forte that she knew this was where she belonged! When she isn’t at Barre Forte (and when the weather is cooler), you can find her training for a half marathon or running at the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. In fact, don’t be surprised if you see her around UF- Jackie also works there! During her full-time gig, she trains student leaders, faculty and staff, and supports new students in their transition to college. If you ever want to chat about running, Grey’s Anatomy, fashion, or the latest Hollywood gossip — Jackie is your girl!

Her classes focus on alignment, mind/body connection, physical and emotional restoration and strength building.
Jennifer moved to Gainesville in 2011 with her amazing husband and daughter and loves to kayak, cook, travel and laugh. She received her 200 hour Hatha Yoga and 60 hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga certifications from Shambhava Yoga Shoshoni in Rollinsville, CO and is registered with Yoga Alliance.
